Former Carolina Panthers cornerback Troy Hill is headed back to his old stomping grounds.

On Tuesday afternoon, Hill was officially named the head football coach for St. Bonaventure High School in Ventura, Calif. The 33-year-old Youngstown, Ohio native graduated from St. Bonaventure back in 2010, prior to beginning his collegiate career at the University of Oregon.

“This is where it all started for me,” Hill stated via an official release from the program. “St. Bonaventure gave me the discipline, support, and faith to believe in something bigger than myself. I’m excited to give back by helping shape the next generation–not just as athletes, but as young men of character and conviction.”

Hill played two of his 10 NFL campaigns with the Panthers. He appeared in 22 games with five starts for Carolina between 2023 and 2024—posting 80 combined tackles, an interception and a forced fumble.

The Panthers released Hill back on Oct. 19 of this past season. He last played for the division rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
