Raiders’ TE Brock Bowers says that he is “ready to roll” in Week 9 against the Jaguars after missing time with an injury.
It sounds like the Jacksonville Jaguars’ defense will have to contend with Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers this week.
Bowers has not played since Week 4 while he worked his way through a knee injury. But on Wednesday, the second-year tight end would say that he’s “ready to roll” for this week’s game.
Bowers put together an excellent rookie season in 2024, hauling in 112 receptions for 1,194 yards with five touchdowns. Bowers was named a first-team All-Pro.
In four games this season, he’s hauled in 19 passes for 225 yards, according to PFF.
A receiving threat of that caliber from the tight end position can pose a real mismatch for opposing defenses.
So far this season, opposing tight ends have caught 39-of-53 passes against the Jaguars‘ defense, totaling 438 yards at 11.2 yards per catch with three touchdowns.
For more on the Jaguars’ initial Week 9 injury report, you can find that here. On the defensive side of the ball, linebacker Devin Lloyd did return, while cornerback Jourdan Lewis was limited, and safety Eric Murray was a non-participant.
As head coach Liam Coen described, one of the points of emphasis during the bye week defensively was on limiting explosive passing plays.
