The Washington Commanders continued their Week 9 preparation for the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday. Quarterback Jayden Daniels was a full participant for the second consecutive day and remains on track to return on Sunday. Daniels missed last week’s game with a hamstring injury.
The Commanders ruled out wide receiver Terry McLaurin on Wednesday, so his non-participation was not a surprise. Second-year defensive tackle Johnny Newton missed practice for a second consecutive day, which does not bode well for his chances to play on Sunday night. With three of Washington’s top defensive ends out, Newton could be counted on to play outside more with Daron Payne and Javon Kinlaw handling duties inside, with some help from Eddie Goldman.
The good news for the Commanders revolved around left tackle Laremy Tunsil. Tunsil, who left Monday’s game early with a hamstring injury, did not practice on Wednesday. He was back on the field Thursday, on a limited basis. It will be interesting to see how Tunsil feels on Friday and if the Commanders will take a decision on Tunsil up until kickoff Sunday night.
