The 2-5 Las Vegas Raiders return from bye to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9. The Jaguars have dropped two consecutive contests while struggling on offense. It could be a favorable matchup for the Raiders’ defense, if they’re able to execute.

We’ve identified three potential X-factors for the Raiders on defense versus the Jaguars in Week 9.

Maxx Crosby, EDGE

The Raiders have been ramping up Maxx Crosby’s participation in practice after he sat out with a back injury earlier in the week. The Jaguars have struggled to protect quarterback Trevor Lawrence this season. A returning Crosby could be productive on Sunday.

Adam Butler, DT

Adam Butler is another notable defender who is increasing his participation at practice as the week progresses forward. Butler has recorded nine pressures and zero sacks this season. He’s looking to be more productive, and Sunday’s return to the lineup offers him an opportunity to get his campaign on track.

Eric Stokes, CB

The Jaguars have Travis Hunter and Brian Thomas Jr. at wide receiver. Hunter is still finding his footing while playing snaps at cornerback, and Thomas Jr. has not successfully built on his rookie season as a sophomore this year. Eric Stokes will be asked to cover both wideouts on occasion.
