The 2025 NFL season is still a few months away, but we’ll soon know exactly when and where the Detroit Lions will be playing each week.

The reigning NFC North champs do not have an easy slate of opponents. Detroit will have the third-highest degree of difficulty of 2025 games, and that includes a tough haul through the NFC North division.

When will the Lions 2025 schedule be released?

The NFL will release the full 2025 schedule at 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Detroit will play all three NFC North divisional foes at home and on the road. In addition, the entire division will play all of the NFC East and AFC North. Detroit draws the first-place schedule, with the winners of the NFC South and AFC West also on the slate.

Lions home opponents for 2025

Chicago Bears (5-12), Green Bay Packers (11-6), Minnesota Vikings (14-3), Dallas Cowboys (7-10), New York Giants (3-14), Cleveland Browns (3-14), Pittsburgh Steelers (10-7) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10-7).

Detroit’s road games in 2025

Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Washington Commanders (12-5), Philadelphia Eagles (14-3), Cincinnati Bengals (9-8), Baltimore Ravens (12-5), Kansas City Chiefs (15-2) and Los Angeles Rams (10-7)

International games

Detroit will not be playing any games overseas in 2025. Detroit is long overdue to play outside the United States, something that should happen in 2026.

Thanksgiving

Detroit will once again host the early Thanksgiving Day game. The start time has been moved from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.
