Kyler Murray comes home to DFW for a Monday night matchup against the Cowboys where he’ll look to continue his unbeaten streak as a starter at AT&T Stadium.
… Or maybe he won’t.
Having missed Arizona’s last two games with a foot injury and then taking the bye week to recover, it had seemed Murray was trending toward playing against the Cowboys despite his “limited” designation at practice all week.
On Friday, however, the former Allen star remained limited at Cardinals practice, with multiple reports saying backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett was taking the majority of the first-string reps and working with the team’s top wide receivers.

Murray hasn’t seen the field since Arizona’s Week 5 matchup against the Jets.
Brissett is a journeyman QB who’s with his sixth team in six seasons, but he’s been serviceable over the past two games for the missing Murray. In two tight losses to the Colts and the Packers (each at the top of their respective conference standings), Brissett has completed 52 of 80 passes (65% completion) for 599 yards, four touchdowns and an interception. He’s not the mobile threat that Murray represents but he’s also added 45 yards on the ground over the past two weeks.
Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannonspoke with reporters about Murray’s status Thursday, saying the team’s plan was to get the quarterback “fully healthy” before he returns to action.
Whichever quarterback takes the field Monday night, it’ll be against a struggling Cowboys defense that’s had a knack for allowing career QB performances this season.
