With Travis Hunter on IR and Tim Patrick out this week, the Jaguars signed a WR to the 53-man roster.

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced on Friday that they have signed wide receiver Austin Trammell from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

The Jaguars are navigating a few injuries at the wide receiver position currently. The team placed Travis Hunter on injured reserve, while Tim Patrick was ruled out of Sunday’s game with a groin injury.

Before signing Trammell to the 53-man roster, the only healthy wideouts for the Jaguars were Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington, and Dyami Brown.

During the preseason, Trammell showcased his ability to impact the game in a variety of ways, including as a return man, motion man, and ball carrier.

Trammell initially made the Jaguars’ 53-man roster out of training camp, but was released and then signed back to the practice squad after Jacksonville traded for Tim Patrick.

Trammell was elevated for the Jaguars’ Week 4 game against San Francisco, but he did not see any snaps.

With the trade deadline near, further adding to the receiver position is something that could be on the Jaguars’ radar.

Along with Hunter being placed on injured reserve and Trammell being added to the 53-man roster, safety Eric Murray was placed on injured reserve as well.
