The Indianapolis Colts have posted their final injury report of Week 9 ahead of Sunday afternoon’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. As always, the final injury report of the week comes with game status designations.
A questionable designation denotes a 50-50 chance of playing. Doubtful means a better chance than not of missing the game. Players can also be ruled out altogether.
The Colts had plenty of players appear on the report throughout the week, so let’s dive in. Here’s their final report via the team website.
COLTS’ WEEK 9 FRIDAY INJURY REPORT
DNP
DE Samson Ebukam (knee) – OUT
WR Anthony Gould (knee) – OUT
LB Zaire Franklin (NIR – rest)
DeForest Buckner (NIR – rest)
LIMITED
CB Kenny Moore II (Achilles)
FULL
CB Jaylon Jones (IR/hamstring) – QUESTIONABLE
SS Nick Cross (shoulder)
WR Josh Downs (hip)
OT Braden Smith (NIR — Rest)
DL Tyquan Lewis (groin)
OL Matt Goncalves (NIR — Personal)
DL Grover Stewart (foot) – QUESTIONABLE
The Colts started the week with some significant players unable to practice. It looks like DL Grover Stewart is trending toward playing but carries a questionable designation into Sunday. Backup DE Samson Ebukam is out, so they have some concerns along their defensive front.
Jaylon Jones practiced all week and is likely to be activated from IR to play. The Colts really don’t have many other options with Cameron Mitchell out of practice squad elevations. He provides key depth for a secondary that’s been lacking it, but he hasn’t played in almost two full months.
Anthony Gould has just one catch this season and played three snaps last week. His loss isn’t impactful on offense, but he returns both punts and kicks for the Colts. Pittsburgh has been solid on special teams coverage units recently, so that could be a factor in this game.
Kenny Moore II was a full practice participant on Thursday and then was limited on Friday. He didn’t get a game status designation, but that Achilles injury is worth noting.
