Watch: Giants brass confident Jaxson Dart can handle NY market

The Giants traded back into the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft to select Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart with the 25th pick acquired from Houston.

EAST RUTHERFORD – The makeover of the New York Giants needs to start somewhere, and maybe just maybe, the team is finally getting there on the heels of its strongest NFL Draft class in nearly two decades and the promise of the most recent one.

We talk about creating identity, and for years the Giants were quick to try and steal that from their past, instead of coming up with a new way of defining themselves. That needs to change.

Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll want the identity of this team to be about its attitude, and a refusal to let opponents force their will upon the Giants, which has happened far too often.

In order to compete with the Eagles and the Commanders, the Giants are not going to measure up until they can match that edge not only with talent, but in their hearts and minds. And this is now: the Giants‘ opponents for next season have been established for quite some time.

What we’ll find out officially Wednesday night is when and where the Giants will play in 2025, how many will be in prime time after a disappointing 3-14 season.

Here’s everything we know about the upcoming release of the Giants’ 2025 schedule:

Murderers’ Month: Big Blue better be ready early

Forget the 1927 Yankees and their Murderers’ Row – the first month of this season for the Giants is brutal.

Week 1: Mr. Carter goes to Washington

We’re hearing that rookie Abdul Carter and the Giants will open the season at FedEx Field against Jayden Daniels and the Commanders, who finished his rookie campaign one game from the Super Bowl. With the Cowboys and the Eagles playing on Opening Night, the two other NFC East foes will clash in Landover. It’s a big test out of the gates for Big Blue, but the pressure – maybe for the first time in a while between these two teams – should be on Washington.

Week 2: Cowboy up … in Big D

A back-to-back on the road in the division for the Giants, and it’ll be interesting to see how Dak Prescott and the ‘Boys fare against the Eagles before returning to Jerry World to face Big Blue.

Week 3: Sir Patrick and Big Red in prime time

Things don’t get any easier in the Giants’ home opener against Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, old friend Steve Spagnuolo and the Chiefs. Could there be calls for Jaxson Dart already if the Giants are unable to pull off an upset somewhere in the first three weeks?

Week 4: Fully Charged

Consecutive games against the AFC West after the NFC East double as Jim Harbaugh and Justin Herbert visit MetLife.

New York Giants 2025 schedule: The opponents

As part of the NFL’s rotating schedule formula, the Giants play home-and-away games against their three division opponents — the Philadelphia Eagles, the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Commanders — and face every team in the NFC North and AFC West. To finish off the 17-game slate, Big Blue has crossover games against last-place teams from the NFC West (49ers), NFC South (Saints) and AFC East (Patriots) next season.

All NFC teams will have eight home games and nine road games in 2025.

Here’s a look at the opponents on the Giants’ schedule.
