CINCINNATI —

The Cincinnati Bengals announced a pair of roster moves Friday ahead of this weekend’s Week 9 matchup with the Chicago Bears.

Defensive end Cedric Johnson has been activated off the injured reserve list after sitting out the first eight weeks with a calf injury.

In nine games with the Bengals last season, Johnson, 23, had one sack and seven total tackles, including one tackle for a loss.

With defensive end Trey Hendrickson doubtful to play Sunday against the Bears, Johnson should see action along the defensive line as the Bengals look to contain Bears quarterback Caleb Williams.

With Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco also battling a shoulder injury that has him questionable for Sunday, the Bengals have added a third QB to their roster, signing Sean Clifford from the practice squad.

The Bengals signed Clifford on Sept. 16 and he has spent the last six games on Cincinnati’s practice squad.

Clifford joins Flacco and Jake Browning as active quarterbacks on Cincinnati’s roster, with Joe Burrow on IR.

Clifford, a product of St. Xavier High School, was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2023 draft. He’s appeared in just two NFL games, both coming in the 2023 season.
