The Indianapolis Colts have ruled out two players for Sunday’s Week 9 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers
Head coach Shane Steichen announced on Friday afternoon that wide receiver Anthony Gould (knee) and defensive end Samson Ebukam (knee) will not play.

Neither player practiced during the week.
Gould suffered his injury in last Sunday’s win over the Tennessee Titans.
Ebukam’s injury occurred in Week 7 against the LA Chargers. He is yet to return to practice and did not play against Tennessee.
A week ago, Steichen said that Ebukam was considered week-to-week at that time. On Wednesday, Steichen said that Ebukam was progressing “really well.”
Without Gould, we could see Ameer Abdullah join Ashton Dulin as an option on kick returns. In the past, Josh Downs has handled punt return duties, but we will see if the Colts go that route again this week.

In Ebukam’s absence, we should again see a larger role for rookie JT Tuimoloau. Fellow defensive end Tyquan Lewis could be back in the mix this week for the Colts after a groin injury sidelined him a week ago.
Lewis returned to practice on Thursday as a full participant.
The Colts’ final injury report will be out on Friday afternoon with any additional injury designations.
