On Tuesday, Bill Speros of Bookies.com revealed that all 32 NFL teams will travel a combined 625,947 miles this season. So, how much will the Commanders travel this 2025 NFL season?
The Washington Commanders are one of the NFL teams playing an international game this upcoming 2025 season. This will certainly contribute to the miles the Commanders travel during the season. Playing against the Dolphins in Madrid, Spain, on November 16 will substantially increase the Commanders’ travel miles.

So, per Speros, the Commanders will travel the 11th-highest amount of the 32 NFL teams. Washington will travel a total of 21,363 miles.
It is not surprising that Washington will be one of the higher-traveling teams this season. There is the international game in Spain, and the AFC division that Washington will be playing in 2025 is the AFC West. Under the NFL scheduling format, two games will be on the road (Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers) and two at home (Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders). Consequently, the Commanders could have endured longer traveling if their road games had been in Denver or Las Vegas, instead of Kansas City.
The NFC division on the Commanders’ schedule will be the NFC North. Thus, the Commanders will travel to the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers while hosting the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions.

Did I mention that, regardless of the travel, this is potentially a very difficult schedule for Washington in 2025?
Keep in mind that there is also always an annual trip to Dallas, as the Cowboys have remained in the NFC “East” all these years.
Finally, the NFL rotates teams to play eight and nine road games annually. In 2025, Washington will indeed have the ninth road game. However, it is a short flight to Atlanta to face the Falcons. Yet, it does add flying miles to your opponent and a return flight back home.
