Will the New York Jets trade one of their young stars this upcoming week before the NFL trade deadline?

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports that the Jets have opened the phone lines on running back Breece Hall, but are looking for at least a third-round pick in the 2026 draft to move the dynamic playmaker.

Hall is in his fourth year in the league after being selected 36th overall in 2022 out of Iowa State. Since joining the Jets, although team success hasn’t been there, Hall has often been one of the few bright spots. A back with steady hands and one of the better catching players out of his position in the league, he’s the type of player at the draft who could help push a playoff-contending offense to a new level.

He’s coming off his and New York’s best week of the season, as they snapped their 0-7 winless streak by making an improbable comeback on the road to beat the Cincinnati Bengals. He ran for two touchdowns for 133 yards, and maybe even more impressive, threw for the game-winning touchdown on a trick play that stunned the Cincy crowd.

While Hall’s talents will make teams interested, a third-round price tag might be too steep unless the team trading for him can sign the upcoming unrestricted free agent to an extension. The Jets, already looking ahead to 2026, are expected to remain active until Tuesday.
