The Tennessee Titans host the Los Angeles Chargers at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, this Sunday at 12:00 p.m. CDT.
The Titans are heavy underdogs in this game, favored to lose by 9.5 points or more. And, despite the Titans having the potential to exploit some of the Chargers’ defensive struggles or put pressure on Justin Herbert to cause an interception, it’s unlikely they will do enough to come away with a win. Still, that doesn’t mean there aren’t player prop bets worth placing from this game.
Let’s take a look at the three best player prop bets from this Week 9 matchup, per BetMGM.
Passing yards: QB Justin Herbert OVER 200 yards -120
The Titans’ secondary has taken a major hit this season. First, they traded away Jarvis Brownlee, Jr. Then, L’Jarius Sneed was placed on injured reserve. Last, Roger McCreary was traded away. There is zero reason that Justin Herbert shouldn’t have over 200 passing yards, especially since the Titans are allowing over 215 passing yards per game.
Rushing yards: RB Kimani Vidal OVER 75 yards -125
The rookie running back slid right in after Omarion Hampton went down. He’s averaging 5.9 yards per carry and 55.8 yards per game. But the Titans are without Jeffery Simmons, Arden Key, and Xavier Woods this week, leaving a slim defensive front to stop the Chargers’ running back. Last week against the Minnesota Vikings, Vidal recorded 117 rushing yards. He has the potential for another big game this week.
Receiving yards: WR Ladd McConkey OVER 75 yards +150
Even if Keenan Allen and/or Quentin Johnson are on the field receiving passes, McConkey has proven to be a reliable target for Herbert, averaging 10.9 yards per reception. In the Chargers’ win over the Vikings, McConkey recorded six receptions for 88 yards, an average of 14.7 yards per reception. With a banged-up secondary and lack of pass rush, Herbert will probably have multiple receivers with close to 100 yards receiving on Sunday.
