As the NFL trade deadline looms, the Pittsburgh Steelers received an interesting — and disheartening — update on a wide receiver trade target they’ve been linked to in recent months: Las Vegas Raiders wideout Jakobi Meyers.

On Saturday, Dianna Russini of The New York Times noted that while the Steelers called the Raiders about a potential Meyers trade, the asking price in return is high — with Pittsburgh still interested in other receiver options at the deadline.

Back in August, Meyers — who is entering the final year of his contract — requested a trade after extension talks fell through with Las Vegas.

Despite Meyers reiterating his desire to be traded last week, many have speculated that the Raiders’ mixed signals — and now the asking price — may be the holdup to any potential deal ahead of the deadline, leaving Steelers fans likely wondering what could’ve been on the Aaron Rodgers-led offense.
