The Denver Broncos have called up two reinforcements from the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium.
The Broncos elevated tight end Marcedes Lewis and wide receiver Michael Bandy from the practice squad to the game-day roster for Week 9, the team announced Saturday. They will revert back to the practice squad on Monday.
NFL teams are allowed to elevate up to two players to the game-day roster each week, and those players do not have to clear waivers before returning to the practice squad. However, there is a three-elevation limit per player each season. Sunday will mark Lewis’ first elevation of the season after he joined the club earlier this week. Bandy is also set to make his 2025 debut after being elevated on Saturday.

Lewis is poised to serve as the team’s No. 3 tight end behind Evan Engram and Adam Trautman. The 41-year-old tight end is set to become the oldest player in franchise history. Bandy could be a candidate to return punts after Marvin Mims (concussion protocol) was ruled out.
In addition to those practice squad elevations, the Broncos also announced that left guard Alex Palczewski is now listed as questionable on the injury report with an illness. Sunday’s game (11:00 a.m. MT) will be regionally televised on Fox (view the TV broadcast map).
