Keion White isn’t bitter about the way his run with the New England Patriots ended. Things obviously didn’t go the way either side hoped, but that’s the way it goes sometimes in the NFL.
The Patriots sent White, a former second-round draft pick, packing along with a 2026 seventh-round draft pick to the San Francisco 49ers for a 2026 sixth-round pick.
Some would argue that White was playing out of position as an edge rusher. He was too inconsistent when rushing the quarterback, and the Patriots are already loaded with top-tier interior defenders. That led to him losing his starting job to K’Lavon Chaisson and suddenly feeling lost on the roster.
Perhaps he can finally find his game again in San Francisco.
“No knock to the guys over there,” White told media members. “They had a system and everything like that where I was outside. I could have been better on the outside rushing and just roll with what I could have done better.”
White now gets a fresh start with former Patriots teammates, Mac Jones and Kendrick Bourne, in San Francisco.
He is still capable of making an impact in the NFL, and at only 26 years old, there is plenty of room left for growth for the former Georgia Tech standout.
