NFL Week 9 picks: Consider Patriots, Lions and Seahawks on Sunday

Lorenzo Reyes is 7-2 with his picks over the past three weeks. He’s back with his predictions for Week 9 games.

The NFL’s Week 9 closes with a Monday Night battle between two teams under .500, as the 2-5 Arizona Cardinals, on a five-game losing streak, head to Dallas to take on the 3-4-1 Cowboys.

Arizona announced late in the week that quarterback Kyler Murray will miss this game with an injury that has caused him to miss the last two weeks. His replacement Jacoby Brissett will take on a struggling Cowboys defense in a game played 18 hours before the Nov. 4 trade deadline.

Dallas comes in as a 2 1/2-point favorite, and the over-under of 53 1/2 is the biggest of all the Week 9 games.

The Arizona Republic: Cowboys 37, Cardinals 24

Jeremy Cluff writes: “Will Arizona end its 5-game losing streak by getting a win in Dallas? Dallas is 2-0-1 at home this season and has scored at least 40 points in every game at AT&T Stadium. The Cardinals won’t be able to keep up.”

Bookies.com: Bet the Cardinals with the points vs Cowboys

Bill Speros writes: “The 2-5 Cardinals come off the bye. The 3-4 Cowboys played like they were on the bye Sunday in their 44-24 loss at Denver.Arizona tends to overperform well when getting points. Three of its four covers this season came as the underdog, and they’ve covered three of four times when getting points. Kyler Murray remains questionable with a mid-foot strain but appears to on track to return this week after missing two games. He could reintroduce himself with some big numbers against Dallas’ tattered defense.”

Sports Betting Dime: Cowboys 30.1, Cardinals 27

The site’s formula predicts that the Cowboys will win the NFL Week 9 game against the Cardinals.

ESPN: Cowboys have a 59.8% chance to beat Cardinals on Monday Night Football

The site gives the Cardinals a 39.8% shot at winning the NFL Week 9 game, with the remaining percentage accounting for a tie.

Dimers: Cowboys 24, Cardinals 23

It writes: “After extensive simulations, our model gives the Cardinals a win probability of 46%, while the Cowboys have a win probability of 54%.”

Sportsnaut: Dallas Cowboys 31, Arizona Cardinals 28

Matt Johnson writes: “Fans across the league see an Arizona Cardinals team with a 2-5 record and infamous fourth-quarter collapses and assume this is one of the worst teams in football. In reality, this is a club that plays extremely well for three quarters (+44 point differential) and then implodes. Arizona has played tough against the Seahawks (lost on a game-winning field goal), Colts (game-winning TD drive came up short), and Packers. So, the Dallas Cowboys have to make the most of their opportunities in this one. Dak Prescott should rebound on Monday Night Football, regularly hitting CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens as they win their matchups versus the Cardinals’ secondary. We just wouldn’t rule out Arizona winning at AT&T Stadium.”
