Dre’Mont Jones spent all of nine games with Tennessee, but Titans fans have reason to cheer for Jones — and his new team, the Baltimore Ravens — for the rest of this season.
The Titans traded Jones, an edge rusher, to the Ravens on Monday night in exchange for a conditional fifth-round draft pick.
That selection would turn into a fourth-round pick if Jones records at least two more sacks this season and if Baltimore makes the playoffs.
The first part of the equation may be easier to reach than the second.
Jones, a seven-year veteran, heads to Baltimore on top of his game, having recorded 4.5 sacks over the past four games.
In Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, Jones recorded at least one sack for the fourth straight contest, the first Titans player to do so since Harold Landry and Denico Autry each did during the 2021 season.
The Ravens have recorded just 11 sacks in eight games, tied for the second lowest total in the league, so Jones should have plenty of opportunity to get after the passer in Baltimore’s final nine contests.
As for the Ravens (3-5) making the playoffs, Baltimore sits in 10th place in the conference, two games behind Jacksonville (5-3) for the final AFC wildcard position and two games behind Pittsburgh (5-3) in the AFC North.
But the Ravens have won two straight games, and last Thursday welcomed starting quarterback Lamar Jackson back to the lineup after he’d missed three contests.
In Baltimore’s 28-6 win over Miami, Jackson threw four touchdown passes, while Derrick Henry (119 rushing yards) topped 100 yards on the ground for the second time in three contests.
Jones joins a number of former Titans on the Ravens, a list that includes Henry, wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, cornerback Chido Awuzie, defensive lineman Brent Urban and cornerback Amani Oruwariye (practice squad).
Here’s a list of the Titans’ nine 2026 draft picks:
5th round (the New York Jets’ original selection)*
6th round (the Ravens’ original selection)
*conditional pick could become a 4th rounder
NOTE: The Titans signed cornerback Keydrain Calligan to the practice squad Tuesday, releasing cornerback Alex Johnson. Calligan most recently spent about a month with Indianapolis’ practice squad before getting released in October.
