On a day where many expected the Miami Dolphins to make significant changes to their roster, instead the only transaction made by the team was practice squad tinkering.

The Dolphins announced that cornerback Clarence Lewis is being added to their practice squad.

Lewis, 24, played collegiately at Notre Dame and Syracuse, but wasn’t selected in the 2025 NFL draft. He signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent earlier this year, but was waived by the team at the end of preseason.

The Dolphins brought in four cornerbacks for tryouts Tuesday, including Lewis. The other three who didn’t earn a contract with the team were B.J. Adams, M.J. Devonshire, and D.J. James. Adams spent training camp and preseason with the Dolphins and was briefly on the practice squad before he was released in September.

Miami currently has an open place on its active roster after trading Jaelan Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday. The likeliest occupant of that spot will be veteran pass rusher Quinton Bell, who is currently on the Dolphins’ practice squad.
