With the NFL trade deadline approaching quickly, Pittsburgh Steelers HC Mike Tomlin hinted at a possible last-minute move — leaving fans to speculate as to which players could soon join the Steel City brand of football.
On Tuesday, Tomlin was asked if he anticipated doing any “shopping” at the trade deadline before the 4:00 p.m. EST cutoff. While he didn’t outright confirm the pursuit of any specific player, a smiling Tomlin did acknowledge the possibility of making a move.
“We’ll see what happens,” Tomlin said with a grin. “I like shopping.”
Earlier in the day, the Raiders traded WR Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a fourth- and sixth-round draft pick — with reports that the Steelers were also interested.
It remains to be seen if the Steelers will live up to fans’ expectations at the trade deadline, as the cutoff time inches closer and Pittsburgh still has yet to make a move.
