One of the most difficult road matchups on the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ schedule has just been leaked — as Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan has revealed that the Steel City brand of football will travel to face the Detroit Lions in Week 16 of the 2025 season.
The Lions went 15-2 last season — earning the top seed in the NFC — and are considered Super Bowl contenders in 2025.

Detroit’s high-powered offense seemingly has no weaknesses: one of, if not the best offensive line in the NFL, two fantastic wide receivers in Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, two great running backs in Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, and one of the league’s best young tight ends in Sam LaPorta.
It appears to be a complete mismatch for the Steelers on paper, but the retooled defense could help Pittsburgh stay competitive in the contest — despite lingering question marks surrounding the Black and Gold offense in 2025.
Will Pittsburgh pull off an upset in Week 16 — or will the Lions continue their dominance into 2025 and roll through the Steelers in this late-season matchup?
