Will Jaguars’ WR Brian Thomas Jr. play in Week 10 against Houston? Here is the latest injury update.

Jacksonville Jaguars’ wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans, according to ESPN.

Thomas Jr. suffered an ankle injury in the Jaguars‘ win this past Sunday over the Las Vegas Raiders. Thomas Jr. has not practiced at all this week with what Adam Schefter reported to be a “low-grade high ankle sprain.”

“Not having him is a big deal for us,” Liam Coen said, via ESPN. “And those guys are going to continue to have to step up again this week and go make some dirty, grimy, contested plays, and that’s the kind of game it’s going to have to be.”

Thomas Jr. has showcased that playmaking ability of his this season, but inconsistency has been an issue as well.

He’s averaging 14.0 yards per catch but has caught just 51% of his 59 targets, with dropped passes being a problem at times.

Along with not having Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter is on injured reserve.

The team is getting Jakobi Meyers up to speed with the offense as quickly as possible, while Tim Patrick (groin) has been a full participant in the first two practices of the week.

Dyami Brown (concussion) was upgraded from a limited participant on Wednesday to a full participant on Thursday.

Awaiting the Jaguars’ offense this week is a very stingy Houston defense.
