NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Most of the first round of high school playoff games in middle Tennessee were moved to Thursday night in an attempt to avoid potential severe weather.
But even on a school night, student-athletes brought action-packed games to the field. For the first time since 2007, the Antioch Bears won a playoff game.
The Bears beat the Golden Eagles 42-13. Antioch quarterback Andre Adams tallied four total touchdowns.
In Class 5A, both Beech and Centennial won their matchups against Lawson and Station Camp, respectively.
The Green Hill Hawks also advanced after a 42-14 win over Smyrna.

The playoffs will continue Friday night, with several schools planning to try to brave the weather.
