The Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers will meet on Sunday afternoon at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, for their second of two matchups this year.
On Saturday, the Rams announced a pair of elevations from the practice squad to the active roster, as they called up long snapper Jake McQuaide and kicker Harrison Mevis for the contest.
McQuaide, 37, landed back with Los Angeles this past week after spending his first 10 seasons with the team. Over the last five seasons, he’s had stints with the Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, Miami Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers. McVay shared earlier in the week that McQuaide will be the team’s long snapper on Sunday.
Mevis, 23, also signed with the Rams earlier this week. He was an All-American at Missouri before signing with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent in 2024. He played for the Birmingham Stallions in the UFL this past year, making 20 of his 21 attempts before signing with the Jets this offseason. McVay is starting Mevis over Joshua Karty this week to try to fix the field goal operation.
This is the first elevation for both players, so the Rams could call them up two more times before they have to officially sign them to their 53-man roster.
