CLEVELAND, Ohio — Kevin Stefanski, who doesn’t usually like to single out his players, touted rookie linebacker Carson Schwesinger for NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year after his gutsy performance vs. the Jets.

Shaking off a high ankle sprain from the loss to the Patriots in Week 8, Schwesinger had another outstanding game, leading the Browns with nine tackles and notching half a sack. He made the Browns’ first tackle of the game on the Jets’ opening drive, and hit Justin Fields to wreck his throw on third and 9 and force a three-and-out. Schwesinger never let up despite playing on an injury that forces some players to miss 4-6 weeks.
