Check out how the Cardinals split up their 76 offensive snaps against the Seahawks.

In the Arizona Cardinals‘ 44-22 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, 21 players participated in at least one of the 76 offensive snaps.

Only two played every snap because quarterback Kedon Slovis replaced quarterback Jacoby Brissett for the team’s final three snaps as did center Jon Gaines II and right guard Isaiah Adams for Hjalte Froholdt and Will Hernandez, respectively. Gaines reported as eligible on one snap. Right tackle Kelvin Beachum also replaced Jonah Williams, who left the game with a shoulder injury.

Beachum reported as eligible seven times as an extra blocker, but less than previous games because play-action became worthless after the early deficit was built. The Cardinals were in shotgun on 59 snaps.

How was the playing time divided up? Below are individual snap counts for every player who got in the game offensively, grouped by position.

The first number after each name is snaps and the second is the percentage. Players in bold were starters.

Arizona Cardinals Week 10 offensive snap counts: QuarterbacksJacoby Brissett (73/96), Kedon Slovis (3/4)Reserve/injured (eligible for return): Kyler Murray

Brissett was under siege from the get-go and was sacked five times to raise that total to 18 in his four games in addition to Murray’s 16 in five games. According to Next Gen Stats, the Seahawks also had 23 pressures in the game. It’s fair to say Murray likely would have escaped the pocket or taken the sack on the two strip-sacks that resulted in touchdowns for the Seahawks. Brissett left the pocket often and on 53 dropbacks did run for 31 yards on four attempts.

Asked about the creative pressures and blitzes Seattle generated, Brissett said, “We knew that they were going to come in, and that’s what they do. They cause a lot of confusion and put a lot of guys on the line of scrimmage and kind of drop in and drop out. I think they did a really good job of it today on a couple of things. The sad part is they lucked up into one, and we had a guy run wide open into the middle of the field, and the bad part is it ended up being seven points for them on a strip sack.”

Brissett completed only 50 percent of his passes (22-for-44, oddly the score of the game) with two touchdowns. His passer rating remained average (83.3) thanks to having no interceptions.

Running backsBam Knight (35/46), Emari Demercado (32/42), Michael Carter (8/11)Reserve/injured: Trey Benson (eligible to return), James Conner (eligible to return, but won’t)

Save for Demercado’s 55-yard run in the fourth quarter, the run game was an afterthought after Seattle’s lead reached 21-0 in the first quarter and 35-0 with 8:33 to play in the second quarter. Demercado’s other three carries totaled nine yards, while Knight had an 11-yard run, but his other nine totaled 17. He injured his ankle during the game. Carter had three carries for four yards. Without the 11- and 55-yard runs, the three running backs had 15 carries for 30 yards.

Demercado also contributed 40 yards on three receptions, with one gaining 34 yards. Knight had one catch for five yards.

Wide receiversMichael Wilson (70/92), Marvin Harrison Jr. (69/91), Greg Dortch (30/39), Simi Fehoko (22/28), Zay Jones (11/14)Inactive: Xavier Weaver

After a productive night six days earlier, Harrison caught only three of his 12 targets for 33 yards. Wilson had four receptions for 34 yards. That was it for the wide receivers in the game. Jones left with an Achilles injury that is season-ending and Fehoko suffered an arm injury.

Tight endsTrey McBride (64/84), Elijah Higgins (28/37), Josiah Deguara (4/5)Reserve/injured: Tip Reiman, Travis Vokolek (both eligible to return, but won’t)

McBride had another big game with nine receptions (13 targets) for 127 yards and a touchdown. For the season, he’s at 61 catches for 603 yards and six touchdowns. That’s on pace for 115 receptions, 1,139 yards and 11 scores. Higgins had two receptions for 19 yards.

Offensive linemenLT Paris Johnson Jr. (76/100), LG Evan Brown (76/100), C Hjalte Froholdt (73/96), RG Will Hernandez (73/96), RT Jonah Williams (54/71), RT Kelvin Beachum (29/38), C Jon Gaines II (4/5), RG Isaiah Adams (3/4)Inactive: T Josh Fryar, T Demontrey JacobsReserve/injured (eligible to return): C/G Hayden Conner, T Christian JonesReserve/injured: Valentin Senn

The pressures and sacks aren’t only on the line, but the group has struggled this season, no matter who is at quarterback. Not to be overlooked is that the absence of James Conner and Trey Benson has an effect on how teams defend the Cardinals, but the running game had issues before they were injured.

Left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. said, “This game overall is not what we wanted to happen, obviously. I put that on us, on the O-line. We just have to be better. I think the line is the driving force of the energy on Sundays. We have to supply the energy for the team, and we have to do a better job so our quarterback can start lighting it up.”
