The 2026 NFL Draft will take place in Pittsburgh next April, a city where the Bucs found success this preseason with a last-second field goal to defeat the Steelers. Before next April, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft.
Draft Network’s Jaime Eisner recently released the latest 2026 NFL mock draft of the cycle. Within it, the Vikings were attached to star defender Jermod McCoy, who has not played this year. The Oregon State transfer came to Tennessee and became one of the best defenders in the country as a result.

Eisner explains the pick, writing, “The Minnesota Vikings need an upgrade in the secondary. Jermod McCoy is still recovering from the torn ACL he suffered in January and won’t return to the field until later this season (if at all). However, when he’s healthy, he’s arguably the top cornerback in the class. McCoy brings an impressive blend of size, ball skills, and man-coverage ability—more than enough to project him as a starter at the next level.”
Byron Murphy Jr. needs a running mate, apart from Isaiah Rodgers. This secondary gets lamblasted each week, and it has to come to an end at some point. Adding McCoy to the mix would do that and more for this talented defense.
