In a long-awaited reunion, the New York Giants have signed wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins off the Pittsburgh Steelers’ practice squad, reports Dan Duggan of The Athletic.

The move, clamored for by fans and reporters alike over the past several weeks, fills a critical void in the Giants’ depleted receiving corps.

The 53-man roster spot opened after veteran kicker Graham Gano landed on injured reserve (IR). Earlier this week, the Denver Broncos poached Lil’Jordan Humphrey from New York’s practice squad, further thinning reinforcements for new starting quarterback Jameis Winston.

Hodgins, a 6-foot-3 sixth-round pick by the Buffalo Bills in 2020, shares deep ties to Giants brass. Current general manager Joe Schoen served as Buffalo’s assistant GM then, alongside recently fired head coach Brian Daboll.

New York claimed Hodgins off waivers from the Bills in November 2022; he stuck through the 2024 season. In 2025, he inked a reserve/futures deal with the San Francisco 49ers but was waived as part of final cuts. He joined Pittsburgh’s practice squad on September 17.

Hodgins offers Winston a towering, reliable red-zone threat amid the Giants’ thin wideout depth.

Better late than never, as they say.
