The Indianapolis Colts have become the NFL’s most entertaining dinner guests, showing up to every contest with a recipe for points so spicy it could make even the most stoic defenses shed a tear. Led by quarterback Daniel Jones, who swapped out his “dad bod” for a rocket arm after arriving from New York, the Colts offense has left statisticians begging for a breather.
Through ten weeks, Jones leads the league in passing yards with a jaw-dropping mix of deep throws and surgical efficiency, averaging over 9 yards per attempt and completing 65% of passes of 10-plus yards downfield. Jones, once criticized for turnovers, now plays with the poise of a surgeon. He currently leads the NFL with 2,659 yards passing.
But Jones isn’t operating alone. The Colts’ engine is Jonathan Taylor, who runs like he got a five-second head start. Taylor leads the NFL in both rushing yards and touchdowns, already amassing 1,139 yards and 15 touchdowns with a penchant for second-half heroics.
Every superhero squad needs a rookie sensation, and the Colts have found theirs in Tyler Warren. The former Nittany Lion is playing like the league forgot to set rookie limitations. Warren has racked up 617 receiving yards and as of today is more than any other tight end in the NFL. His 50 receptions are third among all tight ends, and he’s chipped in with four touchdowns. Warren blocks like a seasoned veteran, lines up as a fullback at times, and even plays a role in helping Taylor burst through arm tackles for big gains.
Defensive coordinators are having a hard time scheming to stop the Colts’ 3-headed monster. When all three are clicking, they are really tough to stop. Indy’s a huge surprise in the NFL this year and a must-watch if you love Football.
