How’s this for a sentence: It’s mid-November, and the New England Patriots have the most wins in football.

The Patriots moved to 9-2 on Thursday night, dispatching the New York Jets 27-14 at Gillette Stadium to earn their eighth consecutive win and sole possession of first place in the AFC (for now).

Quarterback Drake Maye (281 passing yards), rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson (three total touchdowns) and wide receiver Stefon Diggs (nine catches, 105 yards) were the offensive stars for the Patriots, who rocked their “Nor’Easter” blue alternate uniforms for the first time. New England’s defense also held firm, allowing just 245 net yards and a pair of scores.
