Jacksonville Jaguars’ Travis Hunter needs to be one-way player
Travis Hunter’s rookie season is over because of right knee surgery. When he returns, he should be only a receiver, according to Ryan O’Halloran.
The Jacksonville Jaguars will enter Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers with a laundry list of players who might not suit up.
Still, the team received good news Thursday with receiver Parker Washington returning to practice after missing Wednesday’s session.
Washington has been the Jaguars’ most consistent receiver this season. In addition to Dyami Brown, Washington was the only receiver active last week who figured to be part of the opening-day lineup when observing the team in training camp.
Brian Thomas Jr. returned to practice this week and was on the field for two consecutive days after missing his first game due to an injury in his brief career. Thomas said on Wednesday that he is “getting better day by day” when asked about his ankle injury.
Jacksonville’s primary concern this week will be the offensive line. Right tackle Anton Harrison has not practiced this week after sustaining a knee/ankle injury in the final minutes of the team’s loss to the Houston Texans last week.
Jaguars linebacker Ventrell Miller joined fellow defenders, linebacker Dennis Gardeck and cornerback Greg Newsome II, sporting an orange non-contact jersey at practice Thursday. Cornerback Jourdan Lewis, who missed last week’s game against the Texans due to a neck injury, was working off to the side with trainers.
In addition to Miller, punter Logan Cooke appeared on the injury report for the first time this week.
Here are the latest Jacksonville Jaguars injury updates.
