The Jacksonville Jaguars are making a roster move on Saturday ahead of their Week 11 game against the LA Chargers.
The team announced that they will be elevating defensive tackle Matt Dickerson to the game-day roster.
This is Dickerson’s first practice squad elevation this season.
During roster cutdowns, the Jaguars signed Dickerson to the practice squad, where he has remained up to this point in the season.
An experienced player, Dickerson has been in the NFL since 2018 after going undrafted. During that span, he has spent time with Tennessee, Atlanta, Kansas City, and, most recently, Miami, appearing in 40 career games.
Dickerson played 200-plus defensive snaps during the 2020 and 2023 seasons.
This elevation comes after the Jaguars released veteran defensive tackle Khalen Saunders earlier this week.
Typically, the Jaguars have had just four defensive tackles active on game days. Arik Armstead, DaVon Hamilton, Maason Smith, and Austin Johnson have primarily made up that rotation.
Dickerson could be the fifth tackle option this week, or perhaps he takes the place of Johnson, who was inactive in the two games that Saunders appeared in.
