With Baltimore Ravens defensive back Marlon Humphrey sidelined due to injury, defensive coordinator Zach Orr will not want Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel to sit in the pocket comfortably in week 11. Therefore, Orr must tap into his playbook and revive some of the blitz packages that helped push the Ravens into the playoffs just a season ago.

Orr’s critics have slowly faded into the background during the team’s three-game winning streak. Still, Orr hasn’t been able to ignite the pass rush, something that was once a key facet of his repertoire. The Ravens have forced several turnovers over their three-game winning streak, but have yet to show an ability to pummel the opposing passer.

The Ravens were near the top of the NFL in total sacks, finishing No. 2 just a season ago, but now they are tied for last in the NFL. If this isn’t an indicator of how vital defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike is to the team’s pass rush, nothing will convince the naysayers.

New York Jets defensive end Will MacDonald IV sacked Gabriel four times in the Jets’ 27-20 victory over Cleveland last Sunday, so Orr may look to duplicate the same results. Rookie edge rusher Mike Green, as well as outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy, should look to get loose on the Browns’ offensive line. While the Browns had been able to avoid quarterback sacks allowed earlier in the season, the Jets’ ability to tally six of them last week should have Orr on notice.
