Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans celebrates after touchdown was scored against the Arizona Cardinals in the first half of an NFL football game in Houston, Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023.
The Houston Texans’ schedule for the 2025 NFL season includes four primetime games, three trips to the West Coast and matchups against the teams that ended their last two seasons.
The schedule was unveiled Wednesday with a video on social media that featured Houston rappers Bun B and Paul Wall along with Houston-born actor Dennis Quaid, among many others. After winning AFC South Division titles and first-round playoff games in back-to-back seasons, the Texans will have a built-in home-field advantage this fall, with nine of their 17 regular-season games to be played at NRG Stadium.
Houston will have three consecutive home games in late October and early November – against the San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos and Jacksonville Jaguars.
But the team will kick off the regular season Sept. 7 with an afternoon game at the Los Angeles Rams, playing four of its first six games on the road. The Texans’ last road trip will be a return to L.A. for a Week 17 game against the Chargers, and they also play at Seattle on Oct. 20.

The game against the Seahawks is the second of two Monday night games on the schedule for the Texans, who host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for their first Monday night game on Sept. 15. Houston also has primetime matchups at home against the Buffalo Bills on Nov. 20, which is a Thursday, and on Sunday, Dec. 7 at the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs eliminated the Texans in the second round of the playoffs in 2023, the first season for Houston head coach DeMeco Ryans and quarterback C.J. Stroud. The Baltimore Ravens, who beat the Texans in the second round of the 2024 playoffs, play host to Houston on Oct. 5.
