The New York Jets have benched Justin Fields in favor of veteran Tyrod Taylor ahead of a Week 12 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, a league source confirmed to The Athletic. The Jets rank last in the league in passing yards per game, and Fields has four games with under 55 passing yards for the 2-8 Jets.

Overall, Fields has thrown for 1,259 yards and seven touchdowns in nine games, with a QBR of 37.7. He has run for 383 yards and four touchdowns.
Taylor started in Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when Fields was ruled out with a concussion. He went 26-of-36 for 197 passing yards, two touchdowns and an interception in a 29-27 loss. He also added 48 yards on the ground.
The Jets signed the 2021 No. 11 pick to a two-year, $40 million contract this offseason following his 10-game stint under center for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024. During that time, he completed 65.8 percent of his passes for 1,106 yards and five touchdown passes while also running for five scores.
