The rumors between Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and Florida were rather loud before the Rebels defeated the Gators 34-24 at Vaught–Hemingway Stadium on Saturday night.

Following the contest, the Ole Miss student section chanted that they wanted Kiffin to stay in Oxford, though Kiffin chose to sidestep a question about his future during his postgame news conference.
“I love what we’re doing here,” said Kiffin during his postgame news conference. “Today was awesome. To even talk about it right now would be so disrespectful to our players and what they did today.”

Pete Nakos of On3 provided an update on Kiffin on Monday. Members of Kiffin’s family have been spotted in Gainesville and Baton Rouge. Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter wants to know where Kiffin stands this week before the Rebels prepare to play their season finale in the “Egg Bowl” against Mississippi State on Nov. 28.
“Ole Miss is looking for clarity this week about Lane Kiffin’s future with the Rebels, @PeteNakos reports,” On3 posted on X. “Members of Kiffin’s family visited Gainesville Sunday and Baton Rouge Monday.”

Amid Ole Miss applying pressure for Kiffin to make a decision this week, it’s unclear if the school will allow the head coach to participate in a potential SEC Championship Game or College Football Playoff appearance.
As Josh Pate suggested on Sunday, the Rebels could part ways with Kiffin after the contest against Mississippi State. It would be unprecedented, but there is a chance Ole Miss could fire Kiffin before the CFP.
With members of Kiffin’s family visiting Baton Rouge on Monday, it appears LSU is in the mix for the 50-year-old coach. It’ll be interesting to see if there’s more smoke around Kiffin and the Tigers, like there has been with Florida in recent weeks.
