The Washington Commanders suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Miami Dolphins in Madrid, Spain, this Sunday. It was a tough game that saw the Commanders play without several key players on both sides of the ball.
Most of the game was a back-and-forth affair that saw both teams struggle to put points on the board. It was tied 6-6 at halftime, and regulation ended with a 13-13 score. The Commanders got the ball first in overtime, but Marcus Mariota threw an interception on the very first play. Miami had no trouble walking down the field to kick a field goal to win the game.
It wasn’t all bad, though. The defense still wasn’t where it needed to be, but they played far better than we’ve seen all season. Dan Quinn taking over defensive play-calling was the right decision, at least for this week, as the players seem to have responded well and trust his game plan.
Let’s take a look at the best (and worst) performers on both sides of the ball, as graded by Pro Football Focus.
