The Denver Broncos could get some major reinforcements after their bye week.
Denver’s optimistic that cornerback Pat Surtain (pec) and linebacker Alex Singleton (illness) could return for the team’s Week 13 game against the Washington Commanders, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
After undergoing surgery for testicular cancer, Singleton is “not a lock” to play against the Commanders, but he has received “encouraging results” post-surgery and is trending toward playing in DC, according to Fowler.
Surtain, meanwhile, has now missed three games, and the team did not place him on injured reserve with hopes of the cornerback being able to return in time for a fourth game. The Commanders game remains the target date (Nov. 30) for his potential return.
Other players who could return after the bye include tight end Nate Adkins (knee) and outside linebacker Jonah Elliss (hamstring). Getting key players back coming out of the break would provide a big boost for the Broncos as they continue to push for an AFC West crown. Their showdown with Washington will be a nationally televised Sunday Night Football matchup.
