After wrapping up one of the most illustrious wide receiver careers in recent history, Zakhari Franklin is going pro.
While he did not hear his name called during the NFL Draft, he will be signing with the Las Vegas Raiders as an undrafted free agent.
Franklin transferred to Illinois following three seasons at UTSA and one at Ole Miss, and in his one season with the Illini, he played a key role. He finished the year with 55 receptions for 652 yards and four touchdowns and was part of a receiving corps that caught for a combined 2,717 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Entering the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, his last game as a collegiate athlete, Franklin was eighth in FBS history for career receptions (317), tied for 10th in career receiving touchdowns (41) and 26th in career receiving yards with 3,999. Had he recorded one more yard, he would have been the first wideout since 2017 to eclipse the 4,000-yard mark.
