Falcons sign offensive lineman to the practice squad, place QB Michael Penix Jr. on IR.
The Atlanta Falcons have made a few changes to their 53-man roster and practice squad ahead of Sunday’s Week 12 game against the New Orleans Saints. After placing quarterback Michael Penix Jr. on the injured reserve list, the team signed offensive lineman Andrew Stueber to the practice squad on Tuesday afternoon.
Penix could still return in four weeks, but he’s reportedly going to get a second opinion on the knee injury that knocked him out of Week 11. For the season, the second-year quarterback has passed for 1,982 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions.
Stueber previously spent time on the team’s 53-man roster but has yet to appear in a regular season game this season. The former seventh-round pick appeared in seven games for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2024, playing primarily on special teams.
Atlanta has just one quarterback on the roster, so don’t be surprised if practice squad quarterback Easton Stick is added ahead of Week 12. Check out the Falcons’ updated 53-man roster and practice squad entering Sunday’s game against the Saints below.
