The Pittsburgh Steelers have released safety Jack Henderson from the practice squad, the team announced on Wednesday.

This comes a week after the Steelers claimed Sebastian Castro off waivers, and they now have a full cache of safeties to work with from their active roster.

The Buccaneers released Henderson on September 23rd from their practice squad.

During the preseason, Henderson played both box and free safety, according to Pro Football Focus, playing 29 snaps at free safety and 22 in the box.

His main draw is his athleticism at 6-foot-2, he ran a 4.52 40-yard dash while posting great jumps with a 39.5-inch vertical and 10-foot-8 broad jump.

Henderson was never elevated for a game on the Steelers and will hit the open market once again. He was signed by the team on October 8th after a slew of defensive backs came in for tryouts, and he was the one they decided to sign.

The Steelers signed John Rhys Plumlee as the corresponding move, which could be due to the injury to Aaron Rodgers, meaning Henderson could still circle back around in due time if that is a temporary arrangement for the Steelers.
