Denver Broncos kicker Wil Lutz played hero yet again for the Broncos, this time against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. He kicked a 35-yard, game-winning field goal in the final seconds of a 22-19 victory, the 13th game-winning kick of his career.
Lutz did a whole lot more than just make the game-winning kick. Lutz was five-for-five on the game, and, for his performance, was awarded AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the first time in 2025. Lutz won the award twice in 2024.

After finishing the contest with 16 points, Lutz became the fourth-fastest kicker in NFL history to reach 1,100 career points (142 games). Lutz is also coming off AFC Special Teams Player of the Month honors in October.
He is the third Denver player to take home AFC Player of the Week honors this season, joining outside linebackers Nik Bonitto and Jonathon Cooper.
Lutz is one of the cornerstones of the organization at this moment in time, and he’s come up in big situations. Hopefully, he can continue to do so in the coming weeks following the team’s bye.
