Karina Pasian has been dominating the headlines since performing “The Star Spangled Banner” in Week 11 of the NFL season.
Prior to kickoff for last weekend’s game between the Washington Commanders and Miami Dolphins, the Madrid-based vocalist sang the national anthem. Pasian’s performance received an incredible ovation at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in Spain.

Unfortunately, the discourse surrounding Pasian had little to do with her performance. Most of the arguments taking place online were about her outfit. Some fans thought it was an inappropriate look for the national anthem.

NFL/X
“This is how singer Karina Pasian was dressed to sign the National Anthem before the Commanders/Dolphins football game!” one person wrote on X. “If it doesn’t glorify God, it shouldn’t be allowed in your home. Simple, sick of the complaints. Shut it off until they realize who their audience is.”

“Tiny dress and garters is such a weird national anthem look,” a second person commented.
“Sorry her choice of outfits is what’s getting the attention,” another person said.
Karina Pasian apologizes.
Over the weekend, Pasian took to social media to thank those for applauding her rendition of the national anthem. As for her “classless outfit,” she waited until her interview with TMZ to share her thoughts.
Pasian ultimately apologized to anyone offended by her look.

“It was not my intention to offend anyone,” Pasian told TMZ Sports. “I’m really sorry if anyone felt offended by it. My intention was to have a good time.”
Pasian confirmed that her outfit was approved by the NFL. That alone should silence most of the critics.
