Gaskin, a Lynnwood native who starred at Seattle’s O’Dea High School, was initially signed to the practice squad Oct. 1. He was released on Oct. 29 but was re-signed the next day. The 28 year old has not appeared in a game for the Seahawks this season.
Gaskin, a three-time All-Pac-12 selection, set multiple program records during a decorated four-year college career with the Huskies. The 5-foot-10, 200-pound running back is UW’s career leader with 5,323 rushing yards, 5,788 yards from scrimmage, 57 rushing touchdowns and 62 total touchdowns. In 2017, he rushed for a career-high 1,380 yards and led the Pac-12 with 21 rushing TDs.
The Miami Dolphins selected Gaskin the seventh round of the 2019 draft. He served as the Dolphins’ starter for parts of the 2020 and 2021 seasons, including rushing for a career-best 612 yards in 2021.
Over six seasons with the Dolphins, Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings, Gaskin has amassed 1,354 yards and seven TDs on the ground while averaging 3.7 yards per carry. He’s added another 712 yards and six TDs on 102 receptions.
Kramer, a University of Illinois product, was a sixth-round pick of the Chicago Bears in 2022. The 27 year old appeared in 18 games for Chicago across the 2023 and 2024 seasons. He was cut by the Bears in August.
The addition of Kramer to the practice squad comes as Seattle is dealing with injuries to starters on its offensive line. Center Jalen Sundell (knee) was placed on injured reserve last Saturday, and rookie left guard Grey Zabel is day to day with a knee injury suffered in Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
