Packers safety Xavier McKinney highly confident interceptions will come
Green Bay Packers safety Xavier McKinney feels the defense is going to start getting interceptions down the stretch.
The Green Bay Packers will look to feast again on Thanksgiving.
For the third straight year, the Packers will play on the holiday. And it’s the second time in three seasons they’ll spend Thanksgiving in the Motor City with a matchup against the Detroit Lions.
The game will be critical for both teams as the battle for the NFC North intensifies and also in the crowded NFC playoff picture.
Here’s what to know about the Packers on Thanksgiving in 2025 as it approaches in one week:
Do the Packers play on Thanksgiving?
Yes, the Packers are playing on Thanksgiving when they travel to take on their NFC North rival, the Detroit Lions.
The Packers will look to win their third straight game on the holiday in three consecutive years.
They rolled to a 30-17 win over the Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving last year at Lambeau Field — just the second time they played a Thanksgiving home game — and beat the Detroit Lions, 29-22, in 2023 at Ford Field in a game in which quarterback Jordan Love was snubbed of a turkey leg.
Fortunately, he was compensated in 2024 with more than enough drumsticks. Pro Football Hall of Famer LeRoy Butler made sure of it.
The three-year run on the holiday is the longest such streak since the Packers played 13 straight years on Thanksgiving from 1951 through 1963. All of those games were against the Lions. The Packers went 3-9-1 during that stretch.
Before this current run of games on Thanksgiving, the Packers had last played on the holiday in 2015.
What time do the Packers play on Thanksgiving?
The Packers play the Lions at noon Thursday, Nov. 27. It will air on Fox.
It’s the first of three NFL games on the Thanksgiving schedule.

Packers vs Lions Thanksgiving halftime show
Halftime shows have become a staple of NFL games on Thanksgiving. And one of Detroit’s own will come in to electrify the Ford Field crowd during the Packers-Lions game.
Jack White, the guitarist and lead singer of the rock duo the White Stripes, will perform at halftime. The White Stripes were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame earlier this month.
