On Tuesday, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin did not rule any players out for this week, but said how participation will determine who is ultimately available. The big question on the mind of most is the availability of quarterback Aaron Rodgers after missing the second half last week. It was confirmed by Coach Tomlin that Rodgers has a fracture in his left wrist but has not been ruled out for this week. Knowing that Friday is the key day for participation, Rodgers followed the expected timeline to where he did not practice on Wednesday. On Thursday, Rodgers returned as a limited participant, ramping up for Friday’s decision.

There are several players who missed the last game who have a chance to return this week. Cole Holcomb has missed the last three games with an illness. Cornerback Darius Slay also missed Week 11 with a concussion while linebacker Alex Highsmith sat out with a pectoral injury. On Wednesday, Slay and Holcomb were back as full participants while Highsmith was not able to practice. Thursday saw Slay and Holcomb once again full with Highsmith returning as a limited participant.

After injuring his ankle in the second half of last Sunday’s game, Jaylen Warren was capable of returning to the game but was held out. Expected to be available this week, Warren started off by not participating in practice on Wednesday. On Thursday, Warren was back at practice in a limited capacity.

Another player who did not finish the game in Week 11 was kick returner Ke’Shawn Williams, who went out of the game after the opening kickoff with a concussion. In the NFL’s concussion protocol, Williams was a limited participant on Wednesday. Thursday saw Williams progress to a full participant, giving him a chance to be available this week.

After missing Week 10, guard Isaac Seumalo returned to the Steelers lineup in Week 11 despite his pectoral injury. Expected to be included in the “bumps and bruises” category, Seumalo was a limited participant on Wednesday. On Thursday, Seumalo was once again limited at practice.

The final three names on Wednesday’s injury report were players who did not practice due to rest. Tight end Jonnu Smith, linebacker T.J. Watt, and defensive tackle Cam Heyward all got the day off on Wednesday. On Thursday, White and Smith returned his full participants while Heyward had another day of rest.
