NFL commissioner calls Nashville ‘a Super Bowl-ready city’ while visiting Tennessee Titans

  • November 21, 2025

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Tennessee Titans officially call “Super Bowl-ready city” home, according to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

During a visit with the Tennessee Titans for the new Nissan Stadium’s “Topping Out” ceremony, Goodell was more than complimentary of Nashville and the Titans franchise.

“Listen, it’s an important franchise and a wonderful franchise for the NFL,” Goodell said.

“From the moment you had the draft and what you did to change the trajectory of the draft, you actually took the draft and made it yours, but you did it in a way that made it incredibly impactful to the future of the NFL and the Titans. And I think all of us at that moment had that wake-up moment that this is a Super Bowl-ready city.”

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said that all Nashville is missing is the stage, “And I think now you’re building a great stage.”

It’s been no secret that since hosting the NFL Draft in 2019 and with the plans to build the new Nissan Stadium, local leaders have pushed to host big sporting events, like a Super Bowl, College Football Playoff game and more.

Goodell added that the one thing missing is the stage.

“And I think now you’re building a great stage. We have a process, but I have every expectation that you’re going to see that type of thing in the future.”

Goodell, Gov. Bill Lee and Titans’ owner Amy Adams Strunk attended the “Topping Out” ceremony at the new stadium on a wet Friday morning. A discussion panel was held before crews lifted the final beam of the new home of the Titans.

The Tennessee Titans are set to break in the new stadium in 2027.
