The Green Bay Packers ruled out cornerback Nate Hobbs and wide receiver Jayden Reed, listed linebacker Quay Walker as doubtful and listed running back Josh Jacobs, defensive end Lukas Van Ness, defensive lineman Karl Brooks, receiver Matthew Golden, receiver Dontayvion Wicks and receiver Savion Williams as questionable on the final injury report before facing the Minnesota Vikings in Week 12 of the 2025 season.
How will the injury situation affect Sunday’s NFC North showdown?
Here’s an in-depth breakdown of the Packers’ final injury report ahead of Week 12:
Out (2)
CB Nate Hobbs (knee): A third straight missed game for Hobbs, who injured his knee in Week 9. Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine look entrenched as the starters on the perimeter, but the injuries at corner are a little more concerning with Javon Bullard and Bo Melton dinged up.
WR Jayden Reed (foot/shoulder): The Packers designated Reed for return from injured reserve on Friday, and he was limited during his first practice back. He won’t play Sunday, but next Thursday against the Detroit Lions is now a possibility.
Doubtful (1)
LB Quay Walker (neck): The Packers starting linebacker didn’t practice at all this week while recovering from a stinger in his neck. If Walker can’t go, Jeff Hafley’s defense will ask more of Isaiah McDuffie next to Edgerrin Cooper and Ty’Ron Hopper in three linebacker personnel groups. This could be a big spot for Hopper, who hasn’t played much on defense in two seasons.
Questionable (6)
RB Josh Jacobs (knee): The Packers starting running back will be a game-time decision on Sunday. Will the swelling in his bruised knee come down enough for Jacobs to play, and play effectively? With a Thursday game on the horizon, the Packers could take the cautious route, but Jacobs will likely push to play. Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks are the backups, and keep an eye on any practice squad elevations on Saturday — Pierre Strong is available.
DE Lukas Van Ness (foot): His return from a five-game absence could finally arrive. Van Ness was enjoying a terrific start to the 2025 season before he hurt his foot while sacking Joe Flacco in Week 6. If available, he’ll provide the Packers a talented combo edge-inside rusher for the front.
DL Karl Brooks (ankle): A potentially big blow for the defensive front. Brooks has played at least 30 snaps in every game this season, and he’s the primary backup behind Devonte Wyatt. His absence would mean a bigger opportunity for Warren Brinson and Nazir Stackhouse inside. Brooks was able to practice in a limited capacity on Friday.
WR Matthew Golden (shoulder/wrist): Injuries to both a shoulder and wrist could be severely limiting to a pass-catcher like Golden, but he was able to practice in a limited capacity each day this week. The Packers need to get him healthy for the stretch run.
WR Savion Williams (foot): The rookie is a warrior, and even though he missed practice on Wednesday and Friday while nursing a foot injury, Williams could still play Sunday. He’s the Packers’ primary kickoff returner.
WR Dontayvion Wicks (calf): While he didn’t have a status designation last week, Wicks is back on the final injury report this week with a calf injury that is lingering.
No status designation
The following players do not have a status designation on the final injury report and will play Sunday: LG Aaron Banks, CB Javon Bullard, QB Jordan Love, LB Edgerrin Cooper, K Brandon McManus, CB Bo Melton, CB Keisean Nixon, DE Micah Parsons, RT Zach Tom, WR Romeo Doubs, WR Christian Watson.
The Packers gave Banks another rest day on Friday, just like last week when he played one of his best games against the Giants. Love, Cooper, Nixon, Parsons and Watson all practiced fully on Friday. There appears to be no concern at corner, where Bullard, Nixon and Melton will all play. The big news on special teams: kicker Brandon McManus should be back after missing last week with an aggravation to his right quad.
Vikings injury report
The Vikings have two status designations on the final injury report. Starting edge rusher Jonathan Greenard (shoulder) and center Ryan Kelly (concussion, designated for return from IR) are both questionable to play. Greenard, the team’s leader in pressures, didn’t play last week. Kelly hasn’t played since Sept. 28 but could make his long awaited return.
