Going into Sunday’s game vs. the Eagles, Dak Prescott is 21-2 at home against NFC East opponents. His .913 home win percentage vs his division is the best of any QB since the 1970 merger. Last time Prescott lost a home divisional game was 2017.

After an impressive Week 11 win, the Dallas Cowboys return home with renewed confidence ready to take on the Philadelphia Eagles. There’s no love lost between these two teams, and there’s nothing Cowboys fans love more than beating their rivals from the NFC East.
The Eagles enter the game well ahead of the Cowboys in the standings, but it hasn’t been smooth sailing for the reigning champs. With the optimism spilling over for the Cowboys from their bye week additions and last week’s dominating performance, there are reasons to love the matchup against the Eagles in Week 12.
Dak Prescott’s NFC East home dominance
The Cowboys’ quarterback is coming into the game hot after a four touchdown performance against the Las Vegas Raiders, and now he gets an NFC East foe at home, where he dominates. Prescott has a career record of 35-9 against his divisional rivals, but the MVP candidate is even better at AT&T Stadium where his teams are an incredible 21-2.
When the Cowboys have needed Prescott in their rivalry games, he’s come through in front of his home fans.
The veteran signal caller has been good all season and rebounded from a rough two-game stretch with one of his best games of the year on Monday Night Football. If Prescott is getting hot again, it’ll be at the perfect time when they face off against the Eagles.
Prescott needs to have a good game if the Cowboys want to have a chance at upsetting the Eagles in Week 12. History suggests he’ll be up to the challenge.
Eagles in an offensive rut
It hasn’t been a banner year for the Eagles’ offense in 2025. Just a season after they finished in the top 10 for nearly every statistical category, Philadelphia’s offense has struggled to move the ball and score points.
The Eagles are scoring only 23.4 points per game, while totaling just 300.1 ypg game, with the passing game led by QB Jalen Hurts tossing for a paltry 184.5 yards a contest, good for 28th in the NFL. Hurts rarely pushes the ball down the middle of the field and is 23rd in attempts for starting QBs across the league. With two top wide receivers, the lack of efficiency in the Eagles’ passing game is shocking.
Pairing a stale passing attack with a lackluster run game led by running back Saquon Barkley, who isn’t nearly as effective as he was last season, and it’s easy to understand the Eagles’ lack of explosiveness. Despite them winning games, the Eagles have failed to score over 17 points in four of their last six contests.
A revamped Cowboys defense could make life difficult for an offense struggling to find their way.
Injuries on offensive line
The Eagles have had one of the best, and healthiest, offensive lines in the league for a long time, but they could be without two of their starters against the Cowboys. Lane Johnson, one of the best tackles in the league, is out because of a foot injury that will sideline him for at least the next month.
Also, center Cam Jurgens is trying to come back from a concussion and was given a questionable status for Week 12.
That is one, possibly two, big blows to an offensive line that hasn’t been dominant when healthy. If the Eagles are missing starters, it bodes well for a Cowboys defense that added Quinnen Williams during their bye week and got back other key contributors on the defensive side of the ball. Matt Eberflus’ best results from his defense came last week with a near-full complement of talent on that side of the ball.
